Wenn über 200 Classic Teams fast 1.000 Kilometer durch die schönsten Gegenden Österreichs fahren, dann kann es sich fast nur um die Ennstal Classic handeln.
Trotz coronabedingter teils mühsamer Anreise kamen Teams aus 15 Nationen, darunter 6 Damen Teams. Dazu feinstes Sommerwetter bei moderaten Temperaturen. Die Ennstal-Classic 2021 war wiedermal ein Erlebnis. Bloß die Unwetter im Vorfeld des Events waren der Routenführung reingegrätscht – die Etappe von Bad Ischl nach Schladming über die Postalm musste verlegt werden, die Straße war weggebrochen.
Zum bereits vierten Mal hat das Team Friedrich Radinger/Thomas Wagner auf Mini 1275 GT die Ennstal-Classic gewonnen. An zweiter Stelle und damit erstmals unter den Top-Drei: Ein Damen- und Juniorenteam, die Geschwister Margarita und Magdalena Voglar auf Alfa Romeo Giulia TI. Platz drei ging an Erich und Roswitha Volk auf Ford Mustang Fastback.
Bei der Ennstal Classic dürfen natürlich auch die zahlreiche Promis nicht fehlen. Als traditionelle Starter gelten Evergreen Peter Kraus, die Rennlegenden Rauno Aaltonen und Dieter Quester, Manager Sigi Wolf oder der ehemalige McLaren-Rennleiter Jo Ramirez. Aber auch Formel 1-Crack Mark Webber, Tatort-Kommissar Richy Müller, LeMans-Sieger Timo Bernhard, VW-Motorsportchef Fritz Enzinger und Rallye-As Simo Lampinen säumten das Starterfeld der heurigen Ennstal-Classic.
Wegen Corona und einer etwas reduzierten Siegerehrung, mußten wir heuer auch die GARANTA Jaguar Trophy inoffiziell verleihen. Umso mehr freuen wir uns über die neuen Gewinner, die erstmals auch Clubmitglieder sind: Walter und Birgit Wawronek auf E-Type S2 OTS. Und wo sind unsere anderen Clubmitglieder gelandet? Florian Kunz, diesmal am Beifahrersitz neben seiner Tochter Marlene auf Aston Martin DB4 auf Rang 16. Christian Mitterdorfer und Isabella Barth auf XK 120 OTS SE auf Rang 18. Max Lauda und Ursula Piatnik auf XK 140 DHC auf Rang 26. Hannes und Gitti Frech auf Volvo PV 544 auf Rang 43. Johannes Hödlmayr mit Sohn Johannes Hödlmayr auf Austin Healey auf Rang 90. Helmut Struger auf XK 120 DHC und Ivan Rosen auf Frazer Nash Le Mans mußten leider verfrüht aufgeben. Insgesamt waren 17 Jaguar Fahrzeuge am Start.
Wir sehen uns wieder im nächsten Jahr, speziell wo die 30. Ausgabe der Ennstal-Classic ansteht, von 20. bis 23. Juli 2022.

If more than 200 classic car teams drive almost 1,000 kilometers through the most beautiful regions of Austria, then it can almost only be about the Ennstal Classic.
Despite the sometimes arduous journey due to corona, teams from 15 nations came, including 6 women’s teams. In addition the event presented with the finest summer weather at moderate temperatures.
At the Ennstal Classic, of course, numerous celebrities should not be missing. Evergreen Peter Kraus, racing legends Rauno Aaltonen and Dieter Quester, manager Sigi Wolf and former McLaren racing director Jo Ramirez are considered traditional starters. But also Formula 1 crack Mark Webber, LeMans winner Timo Bernhard, VW motorsport director Fritz Enzinger and ralley ace Simo Lampinen lined the starting field at this year’s Ennstal Classic.

We are all the more pleased about the new winners of the GARANTA JAGUAR TROPHY, it went to club members for the first time: Walter and Birgit Wawronek driving an E-Type S2 OTS. And where did our other club members end up? Florian Kunz, this time in the passenger seat next to his daughter Marlene in an Aston Martin DB4 in 16th, Christian Mitterdorfer and Isabella Barth in an XK 120 OTS SE in 18th, Max Lauda and Ursula Piatnik in an XK 140 DHC in 26th place. Hannes and Gitti Frech in Volvo PV 544 on rank 43. Johannes Hoedlmayr with son Johannes on Austin Healey on rank 90. Helmut Struger on XK 120 DHC and Ivan Rosen on Frazer Nash Le Mans unfortunately had to give up prematurely. A total of 17 Jaguar vehicles were at the start.
