Die Track Days standen diesesmal unter dem Schwerpunkt F-Type, nicht weniger als 28 Autos dieses neuen Fahrzeugtyps standen zum Testen bereit.[:en]

This year the Track Days had their focus on the F-Type, not less than 28 cars have been available for testing. Bei prachtvollem Wetter versammelten sich an die 40 interessierte Jaguar Tester am Salzburgring um den neuen F Type zu erfahren, und natürlich auch die gesammte Jaguarplatte zu testen. In vier Gruppen unterteilt wurden nach der Reihe die folgende vier Stationen durchwandert:

  • Fahren auf öffentlichen Strassen, hier stand das gesamte Jaguar Portfolio in der jeweiligen Topmotorisierung zur Verfügung,
  • Fahrsicherheitstraining in nochmals unterteilten Kleingruppen mit sehr persönlicher Unterweisung durch die englischen Profis: Pilonen Slalom und Riesenslalom mit ‚Panik‘ Bremsung zum Schluß, sowie gleichmäßiges Driften auf einer bewäßerten Fahrbahn mit abgeschalteten Assiszenzsystemen,
  • freies Fahren am Ring zuerst mit den 6 Zylinder F-Types und schließlich mit den 8 Zylinder F-Types, wieder in Kleingruppen hinter einem Fahrinstruktor, die Angaben zur Ideallinie gaben. Spitzentempi bis 250 km/h waren möglich, und das in sicherer Umgebung einer Rennstreck. Die Instruktoren waren alle ehemalige Rennfahrer. Unglaublich wie ausgewogen und GoKart like diese Fahrzeuge zu bewegen sind – hier ist Jaguar mit Sicherheit ein großer Wurf gelungen. Vom Sound ganz zu schweigen!
  • und schließlich zum Höhepunkt die sogenannten „Hot Laps“: die Mitfahrt im Renntempo im V8 F-Type: Wem das nicht unter die Haut ging, der hat kein Benzin im Blut!

[:en] About 40 interested Jaguar testers came to the Salzburgring with splendid whether to experience the new F-Type and the other Jaguar models. In four groups the teams went through the following stages:

  • Driving on public roads, where the full range of Jaguar models was available, all with the top engine,
  • Driver safety training in even smaller groups with very personal instruction by the English professionals: Slalom and Giant Slalom with ‚panic‘ break at the end, as well as continous drift on wetted road with the driver assistance systems off,
  • Free driving on the race circuit starting with the 6 cylinder F-Type, followed by the 8 cylinder F-Type, again in small groups led by a driving instructor, who commented on the ideal line. Top speeds up to 250 km/h were possible in a safe environment of a race track. The instructors were all former race drivers. Unbelievable how well balanced the car behaves almost as a cart – this for sure will be a benchmark – not even talking about the incredible sound!
  • and finally as the peak the so called „hot laps“: the co drive in a V8 F-Type in race speed
